New Direction from the Lord : PSW (By Yoshi)

To become a psychiatric social worker (PSW) is a current direction we feel for Yoshi’s life.

What is PSW?
In general, PSW helps a person with mental disease (schizophrenic disorder, depression, and psychoneurosis). Once a person got mental disease, he or she faces the difficultly to live a normal life; suddenly and unexpectedly the person with mental disease becomes unable to cook by himself, to take a bath by himself, to take a public transportation, and to go shopping by himself.　Unfortunately, the cause of the disease is not found yet. The complete recovery from the disease is not medically proven. In Japan, many PSWs work at mental hospitals because most people with the mental disease are still facing difficulties to live out of mental hospitals.

How Yoshi feels?
I know it is very tough job, but it started from words of God, Matthew 25:40. 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Before the word of God came to my heart I ,Yoshi, never had a clear idea of the purpose of my life. But this word of God clearly spelled out my purpose of life to me.

How we have been shifting our life?
The scripture had been changing my life little by little. At first, God sent me a Christian friend who suffers from depression. I started to take Christian counseling course about 4 years ago, and also started to study Psychiatry at special school 2 years ago. At the same time, I left my job, and has been staying home to taking care of our baby boy Joshua.I took Japanese national exam for psychiatric social worker(PSW) a month ago.

Our current status:
Then I got a job offer from a mental hospital in Oume city… (Far West suburb of Tokyo).Noriko and I believe that this offer is from God. Yet the place of the mental hospital is far from where we live, I have to commute 1.5 hours by train: 3hours everyday.
Are we supposed to move? Where are we supposed to live? What we do for Joshua? Many questions we have now in our hearts, indeed, the Lord spoke both of us several times, and gave us Matthew 6:33.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.(Matthew 6:33)

We are seeking the Lord's way first, and the others details will be supplied as we walk with him.
